Electrical and Instrumentation Specialist
Responsible, self-starter to support all technical aspects of an industrial plant including 480 vac systems, 24 vdc PLC controls and instrumentation, equipment/machinery interfacing, and motor control systems. The position is expected to train other maintenance personnel in the theory, application, and analytical troubleshooting of these systems. Interfacing with vendors, engineers, and plant personnel will be a major part of the position and some project work may be included. Updating of documentation within the department will be necessary. Responsible to observe all Good Manufacturing Practices, being alert for bio-terrorism and reporting off standard or abnormal conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
This includes the following, and other duties may be assigned:
High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) required, Associates degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred. Previous employment in a food industry setting is preferred. Computer software and technical mathematical skills are required (must be able to convert US to metric, read a tape measure, caliper and micrometer).
The ideal candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, able to work well with other, clear communication abilities (written and verbal), ability to take responsibilities with minimal support from supervisor, work independent, be organized, and must be able to work over 40 hours per week as needed and occasional weekends are required.
